Welcome to the new format of Kainos News, our online newsletter for customers, partners, and anyone else interested in the latest developments at Kainos. Kainos News is distributed on a quarterly basis and its aim is to keep you up to date on company information, from new customers wins to upcoming events, awards and new Kainos joiners.

Here at Kainos we’re coming to the end of our second quarter and the previous few months have been busy for us. We’re working with new customers, have significantly increased headcount, and have opened a new office in London. Our Polish office, located in Gdansk, officially opened this month and we already have 10 new hires there with plans to grow to 20 in the next year or so. In addition our recently launched speech division, SpeechStorm continues to do well particularly in the UK market.

Kainos Opens Office in Poland

Last month Kainos announced its plans to open an office in Poland. The office officially opened this August and will initially host seven employees, with plans to grow to twenty over the coming 18 months.

Kainos Reports Successful Financial Year

Kainos has announced strong results at the end of its financial year. From April 2006 to 2007 turnover increased by 13 per cent over the previous year to 18.5 million euro, while profit levels increased substantially.

A new appointment by Belfast company, Kainos has marked a major milestone in Queen's University's contribution to economic prosperity in Northern Ireland.

Kainos Helps Royal Liver Successfully Launch Citadel

Kainos has announced the completion of a project to transition the Irish distribution arm of Royal Liver Assurance, to a new operating model and subsequently launch as Citadel Financial Advice Ltd.

Kainos Announces Significant Investment in SpeechStorm Division

Kainos has announced the launch of SpeechStorm as a separate operating division of Kainos and a planned investment which is in excess of ten million dollars over the coming three years. Oliver Lennon, CEO of SpeechStorm outlines the rationale for the investment.

Awards:

SpeechStorm customer, eircom was nominated for Genesys Customer Innovation Award from Hundreds of Applicants Worldwide.


Golf Day:

Kainos sponsored the annual eircom golf society event at Kildare's Knockanally Golf Club, Aug 19th. 28 golfers turned out and Steve Scott won the visitors prize shooting 41pts off a 16 handicap.


Kainos Joiners:

Roger Chidwick

Roger Chidwick joins Kainos as UK Sales Director. Roger will be based in our London office and will head up the sales efforts in the UK marketplace.

Karen O'Brien

Karen O'Brien joins Kainos as a Senior Consultant. Karen worked in California for a number of years and brings a wealth of technical and business experience to Kainos. She will be based in the Dublin office.

Marcin Hoppe

Marcin Hoppe joins the Kainos team in Gdansk and will be working with our speech team developing new speech applications for SpeechStorm.
