It’s nice to be able to share some good news amid all the doom and gloom in the current market. This week we were delighted to announce our annual financial results, the highlights of which included a 25% increase in revenue to £15.6m (22m euro) and a 44% increase in profits. We’ve managed this success while also increasing our headcount significantly and getting our new offices in London and Gdansk off the ground. What an achievement!

In this edition of Kainos News we give some airtime to Support Services, our 50 strong team of support staff that are providing support services to keep frontline systems up to date and keep businesses operational.

We also take a look at the innovative arm of the company and tell you a bit about the new and cool video IVR solutions that we’re currently developing with our partner Genesys.

Kainos’ Hidden Secret

Did you know that Kainos excels in the provision of support services? Probably not, unless Kainos is already providing the service for you at the moment! Never an organisation to shout about its own successes, even within Kainos the breadth and depth of Support Services is not really understood.

Support Services is often seen as the mundane side of the IT industry but it’s the service that keeps businesses operational and ensures that frontline systems are kept up to date and aligned with the latest business requirements.

Russell Sloan manages Kainos’ team of 50 support staff that provide support services for over 40 different applications. Russell says, "Supporting such a large number of applications really keeps our staff on their toes. Within Kainos it’s the exact opposite of most organisations since we select the best staff to be in the support team as it’s the most demanding role.” Kainos’ customers agree as Russell points out, “We’ve got a lot of very satisfied customers, so satisfied in fact that the only time we lose a customer is when the application gets switched off!”

Russell is actively looking to grow the number of applications under support, ‘the more applications we support the better service we can provide for our customers and the more interesting we can make it for our staff.”

Kainos Enjoys Another Year of Strong Growth

Kainos today announced strong results at the end of its financial year. In the year ending March 2008, turnover increased by 25 per cent over the previous year and profits rose to over £1m.

Kainos Scoops ICT Award

Kainos today announced that it has been selected as a winner for an ICT award. The gala awards ceremony took place last night in Dublin and Kainos’ Business Development Director; John McCormack won the award for Best IT Sales Professional of the year.

What’s going on in SpeechStorm?

Recently, SpeechStorm delivered an Outbound Speech Notification system to G-force delegates alongside its key partner Genesys. The outbound call actively welcomed delegates to the event, asked them if they were planning to attend the welcome reception based on their spoken responses, and advised them on details of the reception. SpeechStorm’s Outbound Speech technology allows organisations to provide a more simple outbound notification system and also increases the customer service levels.
