Customer Spotlights

In previous editions of Kainos News we put the spotlight on one specific Kainos customer. Well, due to increased customer activity this quarter, we're spotlighting four! These organisations, all from different industries across the United Kingdom, have recently implemented or are in the process of rolling out Enterprise Content Management solutions, in some shape or form.

Cushman and Wakefield, a global real estate services firm needed a new scanning and filing system to store and retrieve property related documents electronically. The new web-based system converts hard copy documents to electronic format and saves them in the correct area of SharePoint, making them easy for their employees to find. The new solution has freed up a significant amount of floor space and has made employees more productive, putting the information they need at their fingertips and responding to client enquiries faster. Extract Technology, a UK Manufacturing company asked Kainos to provide technical and business consulting on their new document and records management system implementation. Using ConnectZone, a document migration tool developed by Kainos, Extract was able to easily transfer 190,000 live documents from the their exisiting file systems into Meridio, saving significant time and effort. Kainos is currently helping Havant Borough Council to design and deliver a full document and records management solution across all Council services and sites. The solution is built using partner technology - Meridio, Kofax Ascent Capture and the K2 Workflow framework.

Meanwhile, work continues on Project Sigma, a large and complex programme of activity to replace the main computer systems for Shipowners, a London-based firm that provides liability insurance for sailing vessels.

Top tips for a successful eDRM implementation

As published in RM Bulletin, July 2008
There are many reasons why an organisation may decide to implement a new electronic document and records management system (eDRM). It may be a response to a specific legislative or compliance need, part of a wider IT strategy, or simply recognition of the reduced costs, operational efficiencies, and enhanced services levels.

Whatever the motivation for migrating to eDRM, implementation can be a complex, costly and time-consuming business. Yet it need not be. With the right approach and support from senior management, an eDRM implementation should be swift, painless, and deliver a wide range of high level strategic benefits across the enterprise.

Deirdre O'Neill, eDRM expert at Kainos shares insights to help you avoid the pitfalls and maximise the benefits of implementing eDRM.

Kainos Education Services

When any organisation rolls out a new technology solution, training for users is absolutely vital. It not only helps with the overall adoption of the system but it also ensures that the organisation will derive the greatest value and benefit from the technology.

Kainos recently establised its Education Services Division and we now offer training courses for Meridio's Document and Records Management system. The courses have been carefully developed and tailored for specific audiences; ensuring course material is relevant and targetted. These courses can also be customised according to your organisation's requirements and for convenience can be held at your office location.

Kainos now offers courses for:

  • Meridio eDRM for Systems Administrators
