Brendan Mooney - Managing Director
Brendan joined Kainos in 1989 as a software engineer and moved through various areas of the business before taking on the role of Managing Director in 2000. He spent eight years in London and the United States which provided him with both commercial exposure and strong customer interaction to complement his technical background. Brendan was a member of the Meridio board between 2001 and 2004, has been awarded the Chartered Director accreditation by the Institute of Directors and is a Lay Magistrate.
Danny Magill - Finance Director
Danny has been part of the Kainos team since 1990 and holds overall responsibility for all commercial areas of the business including finance, accounting, treasury, insurances, company secretarial and legal. Prior to joining Kainos, Danny spent ten years in senior level positions at Hill Samuel (TSB), Software Ireland and Preussag.
Paul Gannon - Sales Director 
Paul joined Kainos in 1998 as the sales manager for Ireland and subsequently took on a company wide role in strategy and marketing. In September 2006 Paul was appointed Sales Director for the company and was also appointed to the Kainos board. Prior to joining Kainos, Paul spent four years in London with Accenture working in their government and products division. He qualified with a BA, BAI in Engineering from Trinity College in Dublin in 1985.
Noel Crowley - Director
, Ireland
Noel joined Kainos in 2002 and is currently responsible for managing Kainos’ key accounts in Dublin, with a particular focus on customers in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Kainos, Noel worked in consultancy and business development roles at KPMG, Fujitsu and Capgemini, he was also Director of Professional Services with Performix Technologies. Noel qualified from Cork IT with a BSc. in 1984.
Brian Gannon - Director, GB
Brian Gannon has over 24 years experience as a project manager, consultant and IT director, mostly in the financial services industry. He has worked in senior roles in Capgemini, Andersen Consulting, Standard Chartered Bank, Glaxo (now GlaxoSmithKline) and Allied Irish Bank, where he was the group Chief Information Officer. He has worked at various stages of his career in Switzerland, France, Hong Kong, Chicago and is now based in London where he manages Kainos UK.
Gráinne Burns - Company Secretary
Gráinne joined Kainos as Commercial Manager in 2001. She studied law at Queen’s University Belfast and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Masters in Law and Computers (LLM). Gráinne completed her legal training in the College of Law in Chester and qualified as a Solicitor in England; she worked in private practice, primarily in litigation before joining Kainos where she now heads the Kainos Legal Department and is the Company Secretary.
Non-Executive Directors
John Lillywhite - Chairman
John started his technology career over 40 years ago as a commercial apprentice at ICL. Over the years he gained experience working in the UK, Europe, USA and the Far East. In 1997 John stepped down as group finance director of ICL and became Chairman of Kainos. He is also non-executive director of several other high technology companies. He helps these companies raise required capital funding and improve company shareholder value through development of effective strategic direction and best practice operational delivery.
John Wright
John became a non executive Director of Kainos in 2006. John's background is in Financial Services and he has held senior level positions at banks across the globe since 1958. In 1974 he became Vice President of First Interstate Bank of California. John is retired as Director and Chief Executive of Oman International Bank, Northern Bank Limited, Gulf Bank KSC, and Clydesdale and Yorkshire banks. He is Chairman and Non Executive Director of a number of companies in the UK and overseas and is a visiting Professor at the University of Glasgow Business School. He is also past President of the Irish Institute of Bankers and past Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
Frank Graham
Frank was one of the founding members of Kainos in 1987, a joint initiative by ICL, Queens University and ACT. He went straight into a computer software career from university in 1967 where he worked as a programmer with Rolls Royce in Derby and Dundonald. In 1970 he joined the ICS Computing Group in Belfast as a systems analyst. In June 2001 the products division of Kainos emerged and a new company, Meridio Ltd (since acquired by Autonomy) was formed of which Frank was Chief Executive Officer and is now Executive Director. Frank has been and still is an active member of many organisations in Northern Ireland.
Debbie Rennick
Debbie is a partner in ACT Venture Capital Limited, a leading Irish venture capital firm, that has completed over 75 investments and raised over €350 million sourced from leading worldwide institutions. Debbie joined ACT Venture Capital in 1995 and has a wide range of investment experience in a variety of sectors including software, healthcare, media, retail and hotels. Prior to joining ACT, Debbie spent 5 years with KPMG Corporate Finance specialising in strategic corporate advice, fund-raisings and M&A transactions. Debbie graduated from University College Dublin with a degree in Civil Law and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Panos Lioulias
Panos is CEO of Qubis Ltd, the venture spin-out company of Queen's University, that manages a portfolio of 43 companies and that have a combined turnover of £89M turnover with 1054 employees. He helps companies to develop their businesses, create business plans, secure funding, enter new markets, restructure, grow and create returns for founders and investors. Panos founded AVC Venture Capital and also Angel Capital that was a full member of the European Venture Capital Association. Panos holds Degrees in Computer Science and Economics. IMD MBA, Lausanne Switzerland.
