Heartbleed Bug

A serious flaw has been uncovered in software that is used by millions of computers worldwide. The flaw, dubbed the "Heartbleed Bug", affects an Internet security technology called OpenSSL, which protects Internet communication applications such as the Web, Email and Instant Messaging. The Heartbleed Bug leaves the computer memory of affected systems and websites open to view by potential attackers, who can then access secret keys to decode encrypted data, including the names and passwords of users and the content of their messages.

Most organisations are already aware of the bug and are taking steps to secure their infrastructure and systems against the vulnerability. Further information can be found at http://heartbleed.com/.
