Kainos Appoints Experienced Healthcare Professional, David Thomas, to its Evolve Healthcare Consulting Division

London & Belfast, January 14th, 2011 Kainos, the IT consulting company and developers of the Evolve? healthcare solution has today announced the appointment of NHS service transformation specialist, David Thomas, to its Evolve healthcare consulting division. David who comes to Kainos straight from Leicester University Hospitals NHS Trust, will assist with the development and positioning of the Evolve healthcare consulting services portfolio. David brings more than 22 years NHS experience to the Evolve team. He originally trained as a Paramedic with the Ambulance Service in Manchester and still retains his qualification to teach the medical aspects of ambulance work and emergency driving. Following a move into middle and senior management David held positions with the Health Authority and Department of Health working on large modernisation programmes across the Acute and Primary care settings. David's experience is both inside and outside the NHS, having served for more than seven years as a freelance consultant working on large NHS projects for Atos Origin and BT. Most recently David worked at Leicester University Hospitals NHS Trust where he led a large piece of cost efficiency/service transformation work. 'David's appointment further deepens our understanding of healthcare and will be a tremendous contribution as we develop our healthcare solutions and services portfolio,' said Deirdre O'Neill, head of the Evolve Healthcare division at Kainos .
