Kainos Leads the Pack with Three Nominations in Digital Leaders Awards

Vote London, UK 7th April 2016 Digital solutions provider Kainos has been shortlisted in three categories in the 2016 Digital Leaders awards. The awards showcase and celebrate the nation's leading digital innovators and their work across different verticals and sectors. The winners will be announced on 15th June. The DVSA MOT modernisation project continues to reap industry recognition in the 'Cross-Sector Digital Collaboration' category. Moving the MOT testing service to Amazon Web Services in just 10 weeks was a real test of communication between key stakeholders and end users. Since September, the service now captures up to 150,000 MOT tests every day and received user feedback that it is simpler, quicker to use and benefits their businesses. The data sharing hub established by Kainos and Surrey County Council has been recognised in the 'Digital Public Service Innovation of the Year' category. Triggered by the widespread flooding in 2013/14, the system helps ensure the county's most vulnerable residents are protected and the strain on emergency services is reduced. The project is now acting as a case study for other county councils to follow. Finally, the Kainos Tech Outreach programme, designed to promote digital and IT education is up for the 'Digital Inclusion and Skills Initiative of the Year' award. The aim is to develop future talent to fuel the digital economy. Via partnerships with the likes of The Prince's Trust, Kainos is introducing young people to the world of computer programming and improving their technical skills. Brian Gannon at Kainos said: 'Securing nominations in three categories illustrates the diversity, range and collaborative thinking that shapes our portfolio of projects. Kainos is synonymous with delivering smarter, faster, better solutions for businesses, but is equally proud to be nurturing the next generation of digital professionals with the Tech Outreach programme as well. We will look forward to hearing who wins but are delighted that our work is receiving such recognition.'
