Star Status for Kainos

London & Belfast, June 14th, 2011 - IT services company, Kainos is officially one of the best employers in the UK - and that's according to its 285-strong workforce.

Kainos was one of almost 1200 companies throughout the UK that applied for the prestigious accreditation, with only 40% achieving 'star status'.

Awarded by 'Best Companies' - the company behind the Sunday Times 'Best Companies to Work For', the accolade recognises those organisations which engage most effectively with their staff.

Established after research revealed that workplace engagement is the key driver of sustainable business performance, the Best Companies assessment model uses staff surveys and direct feedback to measure how organisations engage with their employees.

According to Paul Hamill, Director of Operations at Kainos, unlike other awards, the accreditation is a constant, year round, employee-driven assessment of Kainos' status as an excellent place to work.

'Over the last 25 years, our over-riding focus has been on recruiting and retaining the very best people - in Belfast, Gdansk, London and Dublin.

'We are aware of our strengths but we felt the assessment process would help us better understand how we engage with our people, what works best, and highlight any areas for improvement. It also helps us benchmark our performance against other leading employers in the UK.

'We have a very bright future with many innovative projects underway and we hope our star status will help us attract even more talented, positive and ambitious individuals who have a passion for technology and the skills to make them work for business.'

The Best Companies to Work for award comes on top of Kainos' recent success in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies awards where it was a winner for the third consecutive year, reflecting its wider achievements in business management and performance.

Kainos is the only company in the UK and Ireland to hold both awards.
