Ulster University Business School partners with Kainos to launch new leadership programme

Ulster University Business School and digital services and platforms company Kainos have launched a unique training programme to further develop the company's talented leaders.

Kainos' new Inspiring Leaders Programme will comprise bespoke workshops, training and online learning delivered by Ulster University Business School and also includes a 5-day study visit to the renowned Global Leadership Institute, Boston College. Successful completion of the programme will lead to a Postgraduate Certificate in Executive Leadership (level 7), awarded by Ulster University.

Seventeen participants were selected following a rigorous application process and include local Kainos employees as well as leaders from Canada, England and the Republic of Ireland.

Professor Gillian Armstrong, Director of Business Engagement Ulster University Business School said: 'In today's fast-moving business environment it is essential that academic provision is in tune with the everchanging needs of employers. The 'one size fits all' approach to management and leadership development is not always the best approach and increasingly we are being approached by private sector companies to design programmes that will meet their specific business objectives.

'Our core team of experts has worked closely with Kainos to tailor both the curriculum and format of this dynamic Inspiring Leaders Programme and we are confident that it will significantly enhance the skills and talents of their workforce.'

Colette Kidd, Chief People Officer at Kainos said: 'We are delighted to be working in partnership with Ulster University Business School on this exciting new programme for Kainos. Not only does it provide our talented leaders with the chance to learn in different ways; it also provides Kainos with a fantastic opportunity to harness the skills and experience of our senior staff to develop the ideas that make Kainos a great employer and a great place to build a career.'

The inaugural Inspiring Leaders Programme will run from January to September concluding with graduation in December 2020.
