Women Who Code CEO Alaina Percival visits Kainos in London

The purpose of Alaina's visit was to meet with Sheree Atcheson, Software Engineer at Kainos and Founder of Women Who Code UK. The pair met to discuss plans for the year ahead and reflected on the rapid success of the UK strand of the initiative, which has gained over 1000 members since its launch in October 2013. Sheree initially launched Women Who Code in Belfast with the objective of empowering women in IT, showcasing the diverse mix of roles that exist in the industry, and encouraging learning and collaboration in a supportive and friendly environment. A winning combination of industry relevant topics and notable guest speakers has resulted in steady growth and popularity of the initiative. In addition to Belfast, Sheree has established groups in London and Bristol, with full support and backing from Kainos. Sheree's hard work and dedication to the initiative has seen her recently being appointed Associate Managing Director of Women Who Code UK, and she plans on launching new groups in the Republic of Ireland and Scotland this year. Alaina was greeted in Kainos's London offices by Kainos's MD, Brendan Mooney, and Brian Gannon, Head of Corporate Development.
