Employee wellbeing at Kainos
Supporting wellbeing is about more than responding when people need help. It's about creating an environment where people can do their best work every day. Through practical support, flexible ways of working and a culture of care, we help our people stay healthy, engaged and connected.
What this means
We take a proactive approach to wellbeing, supporting people throughout their careers, not just during difficult times. Our support is designed to be accessible, practical and informed by what our people tell us they need.
Our commitments
We believe wellbeing should be part of the experience of working at Kainos, not something people have to ask for. Our commitments include:
- Providing accessible, confidential wellbeing support.
- Creating a culture where people feel safe discussing their wellbeing.
- Equipping managers to recognise concerns and respond with care.
- Listening to employee feedback and continually improving our support.
- Promoting physical, mental, career, social and financial wellbeing through the support, guidance and opportunities we provide every day.
"For me, wellbeing is about creating a culture where people feel trusted, supported and able to be themselves. It is something we all shape through how we lead, collaborate and support one another. Our role is to create the right environment by encouraging people to take ownership of their own wellbeing."

How we deliver this
Flexible and supportive working
Flexibility helps people balance work with the other priorities in their lives. Our approach is built on trust, autonomy and recognising that people work best in different ways.
Physical health and lifestyle
We support physical wellbeing through guidance materials, initiatives and benefits that help people build healthy habits and look after their health. Our aim is to make wellbeing accessible and easy to prioritise alongside work.
Mental health support
We provide confidential professional support that people can access whenever they need it. We also encourage open conversations about mental health and promote a culture where checking in on each other is part of everyday working life.
Manager capability
Managers play an important role in employee wellbeing. We equip them with the skills and confidence to support their teams, have meaningful conversations and connect people with the help they need.
Listening and improving
Through regular conversations and our employee listening platform, Peakon, we gather feedback to understand how people are experiencing work and what support they need. These insights help shape our wellbeing initiatives and ensure we continue to learn, adapt and improve.
