You've registered for Workday DevCon...now what?! If it's your first time attending the conference, you're probably wondering what's in store.

DevCon is the ultimate event for Workday Tech enthusiasts, and you can look forward to an incredible week with fellow Workday customers as you learn and explore ways to drive meaningful organizational change with Workday solutions.

With so much to take in, our team has pulled together our top six tips to make the most of your first DevCon experience. Let's dive in!

1. Book sessions now

Workday has prepared an impressive agenda packed with energizing keynotes, informative sessions, and unique hands-on learning opportunities. They’ve truly got something for everyone! But here's the catch: with hundreds of Workday customers flocking to the event, sessions will fill up faster than you can say "Workday magic." If there's a session you've got your eye on, register ASAP so you won't miss out.

The Session Catalog is live, so what are you waiting for?! Whether you’re about to deploy Workday Extend or need help with Workday Adaptive, make sure to focus on talks that are aligned to your area of expertise or that will address areas of challenge your business is facing.

2. Connect with vendors & partners

No doubt, you’ll attend DevCon with specific questions, topics, and ideas in mind. Maybe it’s a challenge you’ve been having, or perhaps you want to discover a way to get the most out of your Workday investment. DevCon is a great time to pick the brains of partners who know Workday through and through. While the Expo hall is large, there will be a map with a list of vendors so you can find who you’re looking for quickly.

Make sure to connect with Kainos while you are there!

3. Learn from the DevStars

During DevCon, Workday will announce its 2023 DevStarsthe top developers in the Workday community around the world. These DevStars are setting the tone for quality in Workday and will give you insight on the bar for success within your organization. Don't miss this session!

4. Don't miss out on the parties!

The days at DevCon don't end when the last session for the day is over. Evening networking events (ahem, parties!) are a great opportunity to connect with Workday partners, mingle with other attendees, and make new connections. Be sure to check the schedule and plan to attend Workday's Tuesday night event Welcome Reception and the Partner Party on Wednesday. Trust me you won't want to miss out on the fun!

5. Join the Hackathon

The Hackathon is a signature event at DevCon, offering developers the opportunity to explore and pilot new Workday technology, brainstorm new app use cases, and show off what they've built. We highly recommend joining in, whether you're diving into the coding frenzy or being the ultimate cheerleader for your peers.

If you're participating in the hackathon? Here's a little secret: time flies when you're having fun and 24 hours will go by in a flash. Capitalize on every minute by developing a solid strategy for tackling your challenge. Plan your moves wisely and don't forget to set aside at least the last hour to whip up an awesome presentation or video showcasing your incredible solution.

Competition is great, but make sure to have lots of fun and don’t stress too much - after all, it’s all about spending a great day with colleagues and friends!

6. Bring Comfy Shoes

And last but not least, choose your shoes wisely. We’re not exaggerating when we say the conference is huge and you will be crushing your step count goals, so comfortable shoes are a must!
