Living the value of Continual Learning
Kainos is proud to have so many Microsoft Certified Professionals on its team as it strives to continually help its customers achieve their business outcomes; and ensures that Kainos solutions are always taking advantage of the very latest technology developments.
Chime Okure is one of those Kainos employees who values certifications as an acknowledgement of his commitment to continual learning. "The technology climate is ever changing. There are so many exciting shifts in the digital space and I'm a huge believer that gaining certifications not only helps you to stay current - but also to ensure you are future-ready," explains Chime, a Senior Software Engineer working in Microsoft Business Applications projects.
Chime's passion for certifications began in 2018 when he achieved his first Microsoft Certification on Dynamics 365 when he graduated from the University of Greenwich. Since then, he has gone on to achieve 20 certifications to date, and has no intention of stopping. Especially as he sees the positive impact it has on his client relationships.
"Certifications give customers immediate peace of mind that you have the knowledge they need to deliver a solution successfully. It increases their level of trust, which in turn leads to greater collaboration," he explains. According to Microsoft research, 93% of IT decision makers say certified employees provide added value.
But Chime's commitment to certifications and continual learning goes beyond his own personal development, into several community development initiatives. As well as being an active member of the London community groups around Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform, Chime is a passionate STEM Ambassador, engaging young people and encouraging them to consider STEM careers and qualifications.
"Microsoft Certifications are an excellent benchmark of your skills, whether you are a school leaver or someone later in career looking for a new direction. And now you can choose whether to take courses online, self-paced or via an instructor," says Okure. "Of course, it takes commitment and self-discipline to complete a course - but with so many different options to learn you can really make it fit your personal learning style and circumstances."
As a highly valued subject matter expert at Kainos, Chime sees his certifications as an important part of his career path. "Kainos offers such a supportive environment where you get to work and collaborate with an amazing team of experts. The Kainos ethos of investment in employees' continual learning and development makes it a perfect place for me to grow as a professional."
