Elevating NHS Patient Care
Kainos, in collaboration with NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board, announces a significant stride in healthcare innovation with the introduction of a transformative new feature for the JUYI Shared Care Record.
JUYI (Joining Up Your Information) is an Integrated Care system that is used by doctors, nurses and others providing patient care in Gloucestershire. The system securely connects different medical and care computer systems together that previously were not linked in any way.
The Configurable Connector represents a significant advancement, enabling healthcare teams to effortlessly connect their existing systems with the shared care record. It facilitates the flow of crucial patient data across disparate platforms, offering unparalleled flexibility when introducing new data feeds or enhancing current ones. This flexibility not only saves precious time but also optimises efficiency, thereby reducing the burden on healthcare professionals. Using the Configurable Connector, NHS Gloucestershire ICB can quickly amend or introduce new data feeds with autonomy.
John Smith, Head of Healthcare at Kainos said: “The introduction of the Configurable Connector is a testament to the collaboration between Kainos and NHS Gloucestershire ICB who are dedicated to facilitating interoperability and data sharing between clinical systems. One of the key highlights of the Configurable Connector's initial launch is its successful integration with Ambulance 999 data. The incorporation of emergency response data into the shared care record provides clinicians with vital real-time insights, enabling them to make informed decisions swiftly and accurately. This unique integration demonstrates NHS Gloucestershire ’s commitment to harnessing the latest technologies to deliver exceptional patient care across all facets of the healthcare ecosystem".

Una Rice, Head of Digital Integration & Interoperability, at NHS Gloucestershire said: "We are pleased to introduce this new feature to our Shared Care Record. The Configurable Connector not only enables seamless integration of third-party clinical systems but also signifies our commitment to unlocking the full potential of health data interoperability. This technology will play a key role in improving care coordination and enhancing patient outcomes across the NHS. Kainos have provided us with an autonomy that I believe is pretty unique in this market"
