Kainos has been shortlisted for two BCS & Computing UK IT Industry 2024 Awards for projects with the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and HM Courts & Tribunal Services (HMCTS).

An overhaul of HMCTS’s legacy case management system for Residential Property Tribunal required to meet a compliance guideline was completed on budget by Kainos in just 12 weeks. The new solution, ResCase, has been shortlisted for the Technology Refresh Project of the Year, which recognises innovation, quality management, impact and return on investment of the refresh project.

The second shortlist category at the UKIT awards achieved by Kainos is Public Sector Project of the Year. The project with DEFRA has delivered an independent, sophisticated digital service that assesses risks from imports and streamlines border inspection processes for traders. It is UK-first, and innovations are now in place helping to protect biosecurity while ensuring trade flows efficiently.

The BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence. The winners will be announced at the ceremony on Wednesday 13th November.

Andy Kemp, Head of Public Sector at Kainos said: "It is fantastic to have had our teams’ hard work on these projects recognised by the judges of the UK IT Industry Awards 2024 alongside other innovative organisations and projects. We are proud of the impact that our work has for our clients in the public sector and would like to thank them for their trust in Kainos.”

Rashik Parmar MBE, Group CEO at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, says: “Congratulations to each of the remarkable nominees who have made it to the shortlist for this prestigious award.
