Up to three-year contract to enhance provision of at-home testing, self-care preventative health tools and vaccination management in alignment with the NHS 10 Year Health Plan 

LONDON, 14th October 2025 – Kainos, a leading digital technology company, alongside partners Public Digital, Baringa, Healthia, Helix Centre, Scroll and ETHOS, has secured a contract of up to three years to strengthen NHS digital capabilities for preventative healthcare. The award, through NHS England’s Digital Prevention Service Portfolio (DPSP),  will improve access to vaccinations and screenings through the NHS App, and will accelerate the delivery of personalised, preventative healthcare in line with the NHS 10 Year Health Plan.  

Through the partnership, Kainos will scale the Digital NHS Health Check service, enabling citizens to complete health assessments and receive tailored advice at home via the NHS App and website. New digital resources will also support self-care, including mental health tools, weight management support, and diabetes risk reduction pathways.  

The contract also covers delivery of major cross-cutting initiatives within the prevention portfolio, including: 

  • Vaccinations & Screening Clinical Record: providing citizens with a clear view of their vaccination and screening status through the NHS App, to improve uptake and early detection. 
  • Vaccinations Digital Services: maintaining and enhancing national vaccination data flows and services to support more efficient rollout, better uptake and reduced inequalities. 
  • Personalised Prevention Services including the new NHS Health Check and improving access to weight management services, talking therapies and health and lifestyle support. 

Kainos and its partners will work as part of blended NHS England product teams, providing engineering, user-centred design, and data expertise to continuously iterate and improve these live services, while also supporting the development of the wider DPSP strategy and prioritisation framework. 

The 10 Year Health Plan supports ambitions to make at-home testing and health checks more accessible – meaning better individual health outcomes and helping shift care from hospital to community, from analogue to digital, and from sickness to prevention. This ultimately saves or improves lives and alleviates pressure on the NHS.
