Kainos Launches 2014 'Earn as you Learn?' Scheme Offering Jobs and Free University Places for IT Students
Belfast, Northern Ireland - 26th March 2014 Digital technology solutions company Kainos, a top 50 employer in the 'Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For' listings, has announced that its hugely popular Earn as you Learn scheme is returning for 2014.
The initiative, one of many bold and creative development drives spearheaded by Kainos, is aimed at A-Level students who are thinking about what to do after school. Kainos will offer conditional positions to a small number of individuals who will work for the company full time and study a degree on a part-time basis. The announcement follows the successful launch of the initiative last year in which five students were recruited as trainee software engineers.
'Earn as you Learn has been a great success for Kainos. There was unprecedented interest when the scheme launched, with over 130 applications received. We recruited five talented individuals who have exceeded our expectations in their technical ability and work ethic' said Paul Hamill, Head of HR at Kainos.
He explained: 'We're still seeing promising students defer or cancel going to university in the current economic climate, so this programme offers an alternative route to further education and permanent employment.'
'Our goal this year is to attract and appoint up to ten trainee software engineers for employment starting in September 2014. We are targeting those who have completed A-Levels or equivalent examinations in June 2014.'

Successful applicants will study part-time for a BSc Hons Computing Systems degree at University of Ulster, Jordanstown (UUJ).
