Gdańsk, Poland – Kainos, a leading digital technology company, is proud to announce its partnership with the University of Gdańsk to launch Q-Camp, an innovative quantum technology summer school. Taking place in Gdańsk from 26 August to 6 September 2024, Q-Camp is designed to immerse international students in the cutting-edge world of quantum technologies.

Delivered by local and international experts, Q-Camp will provide up to 25 undergraduates from around the world the opportunity to deep dive into quantum technologies and applications through hands-on workshops, lectures and a hackathon. The programme aims to advance knowledge and foster innovation, setting the stage for future breakthroughs in quantum theory and technology.

The event will conclude on Friday 6 September with Q-Con, a conference set to bring together participants, researchers, public officials, and industry leaders to discuss the future of quantum theory, technology, and emerging business applications.

“We are delighted to partner with Kainos on Q-Camp, which is aimed at first-degree students worldwide. As classes will be conducted in English, we hope to see many countries represented,” said Professor Marcin Marciniak from University of Gdańsk. “In addition to providing participants with knowledge in quantum technologies, we want to highlight the importance of these developments in today’s world, especially in digital security. We hope that students will enjoy their time in Gdansk and make the most of our world-class facilities.”

Jakub Stempnik, Kainos Country Lead for Poland, said: “The partnership between the University of Gdańsk and Kainos in organising Q-Camp is the fruit of many years of joint activities. We believe Q-Camp will not only be a fantastic opportunity for students to advance their knowledge, network with international peers, and gain invaluable experience in their field of study, but will also be a source of inspiration for the region and further afield. At Kainos, our investment and interest in emerging technologies, such as quantum computing, underscore our commitment to creating a better future for everyone.”

As part of its investment, Kainos is offering to cover the travel costs for five students from UK universities. Additionally, all Q-Camp participants will receive accommodation and meals as part of the programme. Registration for Q-Camp is open now until Monday 17 June, and eligibility criteria as well as the application form can be found here.

Kainos has a long track record of investing in the next generation of technology talent. In the last year alone, the company’s digital skills initiatives have benefitted over 2,200 young people.
