About Hargreaves Lansdown

Hargreaves Lansdown is the UK’s largest direct to consumer investment platform, with a mission to help over 2 million clients save and invest for a better future. Workday HCM and Financials were adopted in 2020 to help support more than 2,500 employees with a more unified, efficient solution.

The challenge

Workday configurability and continual improvement are priorities for Hargreaves Lansdowne. But, as the pace of change accelerated, manual testing became more of a burden for teams. Manual effort was intensified by the strict regulatory and data governance requirements. Monitoring access, managing segregation of duties and preparing for external audits required coordinated effort that should have been spent on optimising Workday.

“We've seen huge tangible benefits of implementing Smart controls…because we’re not bogged down with that manual activity, we can keep optimising and improving our Workday offering for our colleagues.”

The result

By adopting Smart Test and Smart Audit, Hargreaves Lansdown are able to:

  • Automate testing that would have required three full-time employees
  • Automate SoD, access management and activity monitoring
  • Streamline audit preparation and increase compliance confidence
  • Implement updates, changes and expansions faster and with fewer errors
