How West Monroe gets more value from Workday with Kainos Smart automation
About West Monroe
West Monroe is a global business and technology consulting firm, headquartered in Chicago, with over 1,700 global employees. Its mission is to deliver technology and data-focused solutions that create value for its clients.
The challenge
After implementing Workday, the sheer scale and complexity of testing limited the value West Monroe could realise from its investment. The main issues included:
- Limited resources to effectively test hundreds of new features during bi-annual releases
- Pressure to deliver smaller internal changes through bi-weekly sprints
- Manual testing was diverting specialists from working on high-value roadmap projects
The solution
Shortly after Go-Live, West Monroe implemented Kainos Smart Test to automate manual testing processes.
To ensure West Monroe could maximise its Smart Test ROI, Kainos helped build the test packs required for its unique configuration and integrations. Ongoing support was provided through enablement for subject matter experts (SMEs), helping them understand Smart Test.
"In the six months since we've gone live with Smart Test, we've completed over 60,000 tests. For our internal team, this means they are free to work on the tasks that they need to be doing and actually making changes to improve our processes."
Results
Almost immediatley after implementing Smart Test, West Monroe was able to realise significant value:
- 60,000 tests run in six months
- Testing equivalent to three full-time employees
- 12-person HRIS team now focused on changes, new features and adoption
- West Monroe's future roadmap is no longer limited by resource constraints
