CCLA Turns to Kainos Causeway for Major Application Upgrade in Support of New Fund Launch

London, UK - September 1st , 2011 London-based asset manager CCLA has further extended its relationship with Causeway, the application management services arm of Kainos, in the run-up to the launch of a major new fund by the company. CCLA provides specialist investment services to not-for-profit organisations, and they have recently launched The Public Sector Deposit Fund, a triple-A rated cash fund for local authorities and other public sector bodies The launch of the new fund required a major upgrade to CCLA's business-critical dealing and registration system. CCLA instinctively entrusted the redevelopment work to Causeway Application Management Services, which provides critical infrastructure and application support services to the company. 'Giving this work to Kainos Causeway was a natural decision,' says Sean Curran, CCLA's chief operating officer. 'They have been providing critical IT services to us for three years now, and we have found in them a team of high-calibre individuals who take a genuine interest in our business. In addition to the technical infrastructure support they provide on an ongoing basis, they have been very good at delivering application development services. Given the importance of our new fund to our clients and shareholders, it was vital that our systems were ready to support it fully and we had complete faith in Kainos Causeway to ensure that this was the case.' Drawing on a fully managed IT service from Causeway has enabled CCLA to significantly reduce its operational costs, shrinking its internal IT team from 10 people to just three. 'The arrangement is highly cost-efficient, as we are only paying for what we need,' Sean explains. 'We don't have to maintain our own pool of resources or worry about our skills being up to date. Causeway takes care of all of that for us.' Causeway has also optimised CCLA's systems so that the company now has complete flexibility over how these are provisioned. 'We are considering a full hosted scenario and mobile telecoms environment,' Sean says. 'Causeway has enabled us to get to a position where this is an option. This means we could move our communications room from our expensive City ofLondonpremises to a remote site and access everything remotely. This would save us a lot of space which costs a premium, with a significant impact on costs.'
