London, UK March 26th , 2013 Thriving technology company Kainos has gone straight in at number 55 in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2013 list, which recognises the UK's most engaged and supportive employers.
The prestigious annual rankings, now in their 13th year, are based solely on independent employee feedback and they rate companies against several important criteria. These include leadership; staff wellbeing; the extent to which the business 'gives back' to society and the local community; employees' personal growth; employee ratings of their managers, their teams and the company they work for; and the extent to which staff feel they get a 'fair deal'.
Kainos is described by its staff as being an 'outstanding' employer. The ratings are compiled using a combination of staff surveys and direct feedback which measures how effectively an organisation engages with its employees. Kainos's ranking is within the top 100 companies with 250-4,999 employees.
Kainos, a specialist independent IT systems integrator, applications and professional services company which works with state-of-the-art technologies, has long prided itself on the calibre of its workforce, crediting this with the business's meteoric rise despite the recession.
The company's talent is highly qualified: 98% of staff are university graduates with over 80% holding first-class technical honours degrees. Kainos employs innovative recruitment practices too, to actively attract the best young talent from universities across the UK, Ireland and Poland - such as the annual summer 'AppCamp' (see
http://appcamp.co.uk/).
Kainos is currently pursuing an ambitious three-year growth plan which will see it double its staff count to over 650 people, and effectively double annual revenues to over £54 million, by 2016. Last year Kainos announced a multi-million pound investment to fund the creation of new software engineering jobs in the UK.
Commenting on Kainos's high ranking in the Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For list, CEO Brendan Mooney said, 'We are delighted to have been recognised in such a respected league table. This is a real benchmark that will add significant value to our company brand. The Sunday Times list and scoring is based entirely on staff input, so it is feedback from our own employees that has earned us such a prominent place in the rankings. This confirms that we are doing the right things in pursuit of our goal to be a highly sought-after employer.
'We have always believed that our staff are what sets us apart as a company and it is the effective way our teams apply this technology that achieves the transformation our customers are looking for.'
Kainos's listing was announced at a gala awards ceremony in London on 28th February 2013.
