Kainos Continues To Buck Economic Trend with Impressive Growth
London & Belfast October 2nd , 2012 - Thriving Irish technology company Kainos has exceeded market expectations with a growth record that continues to outpace slow economic conditions. The specialist systems integrator and services provider, headquartered in Ireland, has announced the addition of 40 new customers and 12 major new contracts of which eight are export agreements.
Total recent orders exceed ?20m in value. Over the last year, revenues generated by the business in Ireland alone increased by more than 30%.
The company is pursuing an ambitious three-year growth plan which will see Kainos double its annual revenues and further extend its market reach in the UK, mainland Europe and the USA. Having hired 140 people last year, Kainos is on track to create a further 110 positions this year. Earlier this year, it announced plans to create more than 60 new software engineering and consultancy jobs across its offices in Dublin, Belfast and Derry.
Kainos has won a legion of loyal customers across its key markets of financial services, healthcare and the public sector, thanks to its vendor independence and deep technical skills across a broad range of technologies, including cloud-based platform integration, enterprise content management, portal-based collaboration and mobile applications.
The company, which has strategic relationships with the likes of HP/Autonomy and SaaS provider Workday, has seen unprecedented levels of growth in the healthcare market, with a series of major UK NHS hospitals having selected and implemented its next-generation Evolve? Electronic Medical Record (EMR) solution this year.
In the financial services sector, Kainos continues to win contracts for transformational projects with long-standing clients including Bank of Ireland, AIB, Aviva and New Ireland Assurance, in addition to new business.
Public sector business also goes from strength to strength, with a large engagement for The National Parks and Wildlife Service delivering a solution based on advanced content management, portal-based collaboration and information access. Kainos is now an approved supplier of 'Specialist Cloud Services' on the UK Government's CloudStore, which allows the British public sector to obtain cloud computing services on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Commenting on the company's recent achievements, Brendan Mooney, CEO at Kainos, said: 'Despite tough market conditions, Kainos has clearly struck a chord with customers who need to cut through the hype about the latest technology, and solve real business problems today.
'From cash-strapped hospitals and local government departments to large financial institutions, clients are becoming choosier about who they trust and how they spend their money, which brings them to our door. With 25 years' experience of complex integration projects and meeting real business needs, Kainos is able to harness the latest technology to give customers what they really need. That typically means helping them to work smarter, faster - whichever technology best helps them achieve that.'
