Kainos Takes its Place on the UK Government CloudStore

Kainos today announced that it has been successfully selected as a services supplier in the Specialist Cloud Services category on the Government's recently announced CloudStore. The UK Government Procurement Service has opened its long-awaited channel for the public sector to obtain cloud computing services on a pay-as-you-go basis, Called CloudStore, it offers more than 1,700 services from 258 suppliers. It comprises four service genres, namely: infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, software as a service, and specialist cloud services. Kainos has been awarded a place in the Specialist Cloud Services category and describes its services as Cloud Strategy and Planning; Cloud Integration and Cloud Management. The Kainos Cloud Strategy and Planning service is for the most part advisory and comprises consultancy on strategic aspects of selection, design and deployment of cloud computing. Cloud Management includes support, maintenance and testing of cloud services In addition to systems integration of on-premise and cloud solutions, the Kainos Cloud Integration service features Kainos's partnership with Workday, a global provider of Human Capital Management and Financial software. Workday is one of the fastest growing SaaS providers in the world. Kainos has been a Workday integration partner since 2011. The CloudStore, built on Microsoft Windows Azure, will enable public sector organisations to purchase off-the-shelf IT services on a pay-as-you-go basis. As part of the government's transparency agenda, and to encourage competition, the service details and pricing information are open to all on CloudStore, and contracts for services should be no longer than one year. According to Cabinet office minister Francis Maude, CloudStore will revolutionise the purchasing, management and delivery of public sector IT services and the way suppliers work with government.
