Adrian Johnston is Head of Digital Catapult NI. He has 20 years technology leadership experience having previously worked for Seagate Technology heading the Data Science and Analytics team. With a PhD in Informatics and AI, Adrian has continued collaborative research in the adoption of AI, IOT and automation in complex data environments with both Ulster University and Queens University Belfast.
Nell Watson
Tech Ethicist ·
Eleanor ‘Nell’ Watson is an engineer who lectures in machine intelligence research. She has contributed to IEEE SA ethics initiatives, including serving as vice chair of P7001 standard on transparency, and contributing to many ECPAIS certification working groups. Nell holds fellowships with the British Computing Society, Royal Statistical Society, The Atlantic Council, as well as holding Senior Membership within IEEE.
Rachael Bland
Head of Data Analytics · Kainos
Rachael is a proven senior manager and leader with an exemplary track record, established over the last 20 years, of shaping, leading and delivering large-scale analytics. Rachael is passionate about using data to solve complex problems, generate business value and inform strategy and has delivered innovative, high-profile analytics solutions including a project which was shortlisted for the BCS UK IT Industry Awards Project of the Year – Big Data and Analytics in 2016.
Tom Gray
Group CTO and Director of Innovation · Kainos
As Group CTO of Kainos, Tom sets the company’s technical strategy and identifies and advocates ways to improve its effectiveness. He manages the Research & Development and Innovations capabilities within Kainos, and has launched a range of projects including Kainos AppCamp and Code Camp. Tom has significant experience in driving innovation in organisations and was recognised as the Most Influential Person in Tech in Northern Ireland by Tech Nation in 2018.
