Kainos and Ulster University collaborate to empower women in technology
Kainos is proud to announce a partnership with Ulster University. Together they are launching an awards programme to support women studying for an undergraduate degree through the Ulster University School of Computing.
Women are still underrepresented in the technology sector. To help address this, Kainos is offering awards to ten women in the new academic year. The awards will give students financial assistance, support and mentoring.
Key features of the awards:
Financial support: Each recipient will receive a £1000 bursary to support study and living costs.
Access to women's network groups: Recipients will gain access to Inspire, Kainos’ women's network group, providing a supportive community and valuable networking opportunities.
Mentoring: The participants will be paired with senior professionals from Kainos, offering mentoring and guidance to help navigate their academic and professional journeys.
Placements and work experience opportunities: Kainos will provide opportunities to put learning into practice through work experience and placements. Working within the teams at Kainos, building networks and learning from experts will supplement the learning taking place at the university.
Supporting women as they build careers in the technology sector is a focus for Kainos. The Kainos network group for women, Inspire, has over 600 members across the globe. Each year there are development opportunities through networking, training, mentoring and events.
The collaboration between Kainos and Ulster University will help to address a gender imbalance in the industry. Through education, support and inspiration this project will contribute to a more diverse and inclusive tech industry.
Applications for the awards will open in September 24, further information on the criteria and how students can apply will be made available in the new academic year.
