This employee engagement tool enables us to tune into our employees in a way that’s both innovative and insightful, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued.

Through our approach to listening and learning, we have harnessed the power of employee feedback, making it the compass that directs our strategy.

Our objectives 

Our goal was to gain a more holistic view of employee engagement in real-time, empowering individuals, managers and teams with a global tool that offers benchmarking capabilities. We wanted the ability to analyse data in various ways, ensuring that our approach to employee experience is both comprehensive and comparative. 

We aimed to keep it simple by implementing an “out-of-the-box” solution that avoided the need for customisation and manual workarounds. Our focus was on driving action through our management structures, providing insights at business area, region, and sector levels, and delivering employee experience insights securely through ready-made dashboards and actionable reports. 

The benefits we reap 

For our employees, Peakon has offered an inclusive, user-friendly experience with personalised dashboards, regular four-weekly surveys in over 60 languages, anonymous feedback, a clear feedback loop, and practical hints and tips to improve their work experience. 

For our leaders, it has provided a clear view of sentiment across Kainos, easy identification of key issues, automated insights and action plans, continuous listening, and the ability to proactively respond to anonymous comments. 

For Kainos, it has allowed us to listen to and connect with our employees, gain insights into employee sentiment, measure progression on wellbeing and diversity & inclusion, track trends, compare data, and drive positive and lasting change. 

A culture of continuous feedback 

Introduced in February 2023, Peakon has revolutionised how we collect and utilise employee feedback. With surveys every four weeks featuring around six questions, we minimise disruption while gaining real-time insights. 

Supported by our Engagement, Culture, and Development team, our leaders analyse the data to identify themes and areas for improvement. This insight-driven approach has led to an employee engagement score of 7.8 out of 10, slightly above the technology industry benchmark, and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 30, which is 9 points above the benchmark.

The feedback we have obtained has been instrumental in driving positive change within our organisation. From enhancing employee wellbeing through comprehensive, refreshed wellbeing plans, to refining our benefits, every aspect of our strategy is shaped by the voices of our people.
