A global bank processes over 20,000 invoices annually. The process starts with gathering PDF or image files from an email and moving the required data through cloud platforms to reconcile the invoice. The average processing time per invoice is 7 minutes.

Solution

We deployed UiPath unattended bots, UiPath Document Understanding (OCR and ML) and UiPath Action Center to automate the invoice processing procedure and to alert business users on any exceptions.

We automated the extraction of data from invoices, including purchase order details from an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), enabling 3-way matching of documents, and improving the overall end-to-end process.

In less than 12-weeks development effort the automated process was live and providing an immediate positive impact for the business. This reduced processing time to 1 minute per invoice and had added value business benefits.
