Below are the top five most asked questions about Workday Adaptive Planning. If you have other questions, please feel free to reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help you.
1. What systems does Workday Adaptive Planning integrate with?
Workday Adaptive Planning integrates with more than 350 solutions to make sure that your financial and non-financial data flow smoothly and connects seamlessly with your other systems such as ERP, CRM, HR, and PSA.
Some of the more prevalent software vendors Workday Adaptive Planning integrates with are Deltek, Epicor, Microsoft D365, NetSuite, Oracle, Sage Intacct, SAP, and a myriad of other industry specific GL Applications. When deciding to integrate with other solutions, you have a variety of integration options, including pre-built connectors, REST API, and custom integrations.
2. What's the process for implementation?
After a comprehensive review of your specific planning and reporting requirements, we will schedule a kick-off call to gather documentation including prior year board approved budgets, 2-3 years of historical actuals, structures, dimensionality, and charts of accounts. We work with you to implement different models such as OpEx, CapEx, revenue, and workforce models as well as working with you to create a balance sheet, cash flow, and income statement.
3. How long does implementation take?
For most customers, implementation takes anywhere between 8-12 weeks. However, for more complicated models with a large number of legal entities, currencies, and/or departments, the implementation could take 3-4 months.
One of the core elements of every implementation we lead at Kainos is knowledge transfer. We proactively train your team to build confidence, support adoption, and ensure you’re positioned to manage your Workday Adaptive Planning environment independently following the implementation.
4. How involved does my IT need to be with the Workday Adaptive Planning implementation?
Very little! In most cases, we typically need them only once or twice during the implementation for an hour or two. Their main function during the process is to provide access to data sources and communicate what data will be integrated into Workday Adaptive Planning.
5. Do I have to work with a partner?
While working with a Workday Adaptive Planning partner is not a requirement, partnering with a reputable, award winning, and certified partner (like Kainos) who has implemented Workday Adaptive Planning hundreds of times can be beneficial.
Working with a partner also gives you access to specialized expertise, a vast range of experience working with organizations that are similar to yours, recommendations to enhance not only the technology to your specifications, but enable enhancement of processes, and ultimately helps your business grow and get up and running faster.
