We don’t need to tell you that Rising is Workday's premier event for the ecosystem to learn about maximizing the full potential of Workday and exploring all that’s possible. And that’s a lot!

However, for those new to the conference, it can sometimes be challenging to know where to begin and what to focus your time on when you’re there.

To help you, we have consulted with our experienced team members who have attended many Rising events throughout the years. Below, we share their valuable insights on making the most of your first Rising experience.

1. Book Sessions Now

Workday does a fantastic job at offering hundreds of bespoke sessions tailored to your every Workday need. But some of them book up really fast! Our first tip is to make sure you’re signed up to sessions well in advance of attending Rising. Whether you’re about to deploy Workday or need help with testing, make sure to focus on talks that are aligned to your area of expertise or that will address any challenges your organization might be facing. The good news is that the Session Scheduler is now live, so book those sessions in right away! We’ve cherry picked some of the standout sessions from this year’s catalogue to help you whittle it down.

2. Connect With Vendors & Partners

When you attend Rising, you'll undoubtedly have specific questions, topics, and ideas in mind that you want to cover at the conference. Thankfully, Rising is a great opportunity to connect with partners who really know their stuff when it comes to Workday. The Kainos team will be on site at the expo and are offering a range of bespoke 1-2-1 workshops lined up to guide you through the likes of Workday automation solutions, the possibilities of Workday Extend, and how to adopt services like Adaptative Planning. Whatever you need! So, be sure to check in with Kainos while you're there.

3. Leave Time Between Sessions & Keynotes

You’ll want to make the most of your time at Rising and absorb as much info as you can. First timers may be inclined to book lots of sessions, but remember, the Expo hall is HUGE. This can make it tricky getting from one session to the next on time without sprinting - leaving you exhausted and even overwhelmed! With this in mind, plan out your itinerary in advance and try to not book meetings or sessions right after the big keynotes. Take your time to soak in all in! There will also be a map available to help you navigate your way around and find what you're looking for quickly.

4. Give it your full attention

Rising is busy! There’s a lot to do and fit in, so a big piece of advice is to give it your all. Try not to schedule any business calls during the event, and ask colleagues only to contact you if it’s critical. Your company is investing in your attendance, so make sure you attend as much as you can without getting distracted by ‘work’.

5. Go to the parties!

Yes, it’s not all ‘business! Rising is the perfect chance to network with the wider Workday ecosystem and to meet with old colleagues and new friends. Throughout the week there will be numerous customer appreciation parties, which we highly encourage you to avail of! As an Ireland-headquarted company, Kainos will be ‘Dublin’ the fun of this year’s Rising with the return of our ShamRock party, which is set to paint the golden city green. You can register your interest for our Kainos Shamrock shin-dig now. If you miss your spot, you’ll be green with envy! Request your invite here!

6. Don’t forget all the essentials

And one final tip which ALL our Rising experts said…bring practical footwear! We’re not joking when we say the conference is huge, and by Day 3, you’ll have your feet walked off you. Pack comfy shoes and plasters, and even enjoy getting your step count up while you attend the event. If you have a portable device charger, take it with you for your cell phone as it can be tricky finding unused charging points. And last but certainly not least, bring the fun!  Rising is a fantastic experience so make sure you get the most out of your time there which will hugely benefit you, your teams and your organization now and into the future.

We can’t wait to connect with you at the conference!
