Contingent Worker Management Wasn't Scalable
The organization employs a large contingent worker population as part of its global workforce and needed to dramatically simplify management tasks including adding contingent workers, changing contract end dates and organization assignments, and changing contact details.
“Managing contingent workers was a significant drain on our managers’ time,” shared the company’s Vice President, Global HR Systems, PMO & Operational Excellence. “The process was overly complex and time-consuming, particularly with such a large and growing contingent worker population.” As the organization continued to grow, it was clear that the process would not scale alongside the business.

In the new Contingent Worker dashboard, managers can seamlessly initiate common processes including adding new workers, changing contract end dates, changing organization assignments, and updating contact details. Further increasing efficiency, the app enables mass processing for key contingent worker processes, drastically reducing the time and effort for managers and improving their experience.
Increased Compliance and Transparency
The organization also benefits from the increased visibility of having all of its worker data within Workday. “This was a big win for us in terms of compliance. We’ve increased compliance drastically with this app because we have clear visibility of all our employees in one place. We’re also able to assign compliance training to our contingent workers via Workday Learning, which we couldn’t do previously.”
