Kainos has been named as one of 12 suppliers on the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Digital Capability for Health Framework which will be used by NHS Digital and other public sector healthcare bodies as a key route to market over the next two to four years.

CCS supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2018-19, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits worth £945m supporting world-class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

The Digital Capability for Health Framework has been created by CCS to support NHS Digital and other public sector healthcare organisations to streamline the process of procuring national-scale digital services.

The framework is valued at up to £800 million and will provide NHS Digital and other healthcare organisations with the following benefits:

  • access to suppliers with the right capabilities and experience to meet their needs

  • value for money through further competition in their procurement activities

  • quality and price based on their specific requirements

  • an efficient structure and approach to commission a variety of projects

  • agile delivery of services based on the Government Service Standard

Kainos utilised its strong network of high-quality partners to secure a place on the framework, ensuring that NHS Digital and other healthcare organisations will have access to not only Kainos' expertise but the combined experience of RedRock, Faculty, Clarasys, and AND Digital.

Kainos has worked closely with NHS Digital for several years supporting them on their digital journey, working on projects like the NHS App, Covid-19 testing service and the online Covid-19 isolation note service. Being appointed to this framework will enable Kainos to continue to be a key partner in supporting the sector on their accelerated digital journey.

John Smith, Healthcare Director at Kainos stated: 'We are delighted to be named on the Digital Capability for Health Framework.
