Kainos nominated for Techworld award

shortlistedJust weeks after the project was nominated for the UK IT awards, the Kainos and DVLA Integrated Enquiry Platform (IEP) project has once again been shortlisted this time for the Techworld awards on the 20th November in the Digital and Creative Project of the Year category. One of the UK government's early 'Exemplar' projects, IEP has drawn attention across the media, from citizens and from industry. It represents a number of very impressive 'firsts' it was the first agile project in DVLA, and the first to deploy applications and data in the cloud. The project met all targets, providing a secure and scalable information platform that can be re-used quickly and cost-effective by the DVLA, and potentially by other government departments. This means that future digital services for the UK citizen can be built easily, and helps the UK Government make long term efficiencies. The Techworld Awards are established as the main infrastructure and networking awards event in the IT calendar. Recognising both products and users, the Techworld Awards highlight innovation in the IT industry. Mike Simons, Editor of Techworld says of the event "This year's Techworld awards have been the most difficult yet to judge. The standard of entries is higher than ever and everyone who made the shortlist has demonstrated outstanding professionalism.' The award will be presented on 20th November 2014 in London. Other nominees in the Techworld Awards include Thompson Reuters, Network Rail and Hewlett Packard. For more information, visit the awards website.
